Presentation at the 25th International Conference on Cranes and Offshore Hoisting

It takes place in Arbedeen, UK, the main event to present the main technological innovations in the field of offshore lifting, such as lifting monitoring, remote lifting and autonomous lifting.

I represented TechCon Engenharia e Consultoria presenting the work “Real-time monitoring of ship, cargo and crane movements to increase safety”.

It shows the system we are developing, which applies artificial intelligence, computer vision and augmented reality to help the crane operator decide if a load is ready to be lifted safely from the support vessel or service barge.

The system can also be used to prepare offshore rigging plans, with more assertive predictions of movements and forces involved in lifting.

With the use of artificial intelligence, the operator’s decision is facilitated and the risk of accidents is considerably reduced.
