How to lift loads under deck where the crane can’t reach?

A common situation of offshore lifting is lifting loads below decks, where it is not possible to reach with the crane.

Case example:

Charge

– Pull-in winch, full spool, hydraulic unit, deflection pulley and foundation;
– Weight 25 t;
– Position under the projection of the deck, not allowing direct access with a crane.

Solution

– Adaptation of slings and accessories provided by the winch manufacturer;
– Use of crane with cable diversion device;
– Hoists fixed to temporary eyes welded to the beams;
– Transferring the load from the crane to the hoists with IRATA;
– Displacement of cargo within the deck.

Scope

– Structural verification of beams to support hoists;
– Rigging plan;
– Field supervision.
